Cookies with Boggy

While we were with Boggy this weekend, we made cookies for Easter. Little chicks, bunnies, and flowers that haven't been used since I was small. There is just something irresistible to a little person about making cookie cutter cookies. As Mom points out, besides all the tactile fun and making going on, it has the fringe benefit of eating cookies at the beginning middle and end.

One of Jamie's favorite sayings these days is, "Jamie helping". He often says it while nodding his head to indicate that he really is a help, in case there was a question.

Helping means spreading the flour around, first with his hands, and finally his whole chest. Also helpful, is Jamie's vintage Fisher Price motorcycle. It is good for adding tire tread to the backs of the chick cookies to make traditional Easter roadkill.

It is not looking good for any of the cookies being decorated, as they are at least half gone just between the three of us-and the dogs, of course.

Here is the recipe courtesy of a yummy blog, Baking Bites:

Lemon Sugar Cookies
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1 cup butter, room temperature
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tbsp lemon zest
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2-3 tbsp sugar, for rolling

I shared this one with my own daughters. It's such a cute and funny post. The road kill part is my favorite.
